Maurizio Sarri says he was pleased with Chelsea 's impressive level of determination during their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg victory against Tottenham.

Maurizio Sarri singled out Eden Hazard after his "superb" execution helped Chelsea beat Tottenham on punishments to achieve the Carabao Cup last.
The Belgian drew analysis from Sarri in the development to the semi-last second leg at Stamford Bridge however reacted by terminating Chelsea ahead without precedent for the tie before the Blues secured a 4-2 triumph in the shootout. "I think Hazard was having a great time," Sarri told his post-coordinate question and answer session. "I had a ton of fun for 65 minutes watching Hazard. "He was somewhat drained in the last piece of the match, he ran a great deal, yet he played a phenomenal, magnificent match.

"The position is anything but a major issue, this match we played with another psyche, inspiration and assurance. His characteristics could really compare to the position."

Chelsea will confront Manchester City in the Carabao Cup last at Wembley on February 24, when Sarri could win the principal trophy of his administrative profession.

The triumph comes not exactly seven days after the Italian pummeled his Chelsea players following their thrashing at Arsenal.

"The last three or four matches we had a problem, the problem was the motivation and the players stopped to have fun on the pitch," Sarri added.

"Now with that performance and result we can find enthusiasm again. We need to continue this motivation. That was very important.

"The players reacted really well tonight. I was very happy with the performance before the penalties. If there had been a different outcome I would have still been happy. We deserved to win this game without penalties."
